Brian Sebastian, MD

After graduating from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, NC in 2007, Dr Sebastian moved to Washington, DC, where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital. From there, he moved to rural West Virginia, where he signed on as a primary care physician at Pendleton Community Care, a federally funded health center. He was also director of the outpatient clinic for veterans, which was affiliated with the Martinsburg, WV VAMC. Dr Sebastian moved to Sonoma, CA in 2005, to set up a private practice, with support from Sonoma Valley Hospital. Since then, he has built a thriving (and full) practice. While in Sonoma, he has actively participated in medical staff leadership at Sonoma Valley Hospital, serving on Medicine Committee, Quality Committee, as well as the Medical Executive Committee. He served as President of the Medical Staff and Chair of the Medical Executive Committee from 2009 to 2011, leading the physicians at SVH through some difficult changes. Dr Sebastian was elected to Fellowship in the American College of Physicians, and inducted into that capacity in a convocation ceremony in Toronto, ON in April 2010. Dr Sebastian loves the Sonoma Community and frequently participates in local activities. In 2007, he started the Valley of the Moon Chamber Ensemble, a locally popular group that has performed for numerous charity events throughout the years.
Doreen Marino, MD
Specialty: Internal Medicine
Dr. Marino received her undergraduate degree in biomedical science at Texas A&M University where she graduated summa cum laude. Before practicing in Sonoma, She attended medical school in her hometown at the University of Texas School of Medicine at San Antonio. She then moved to Portland, OR, where she completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. Dr. Marino is married and has one daughter. She is board certified in Internal Medicine. Her professional interests include Integrative Medicine, nutrition, and preventative medicine. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, art, and photography.
Geeta Malik, MD
Specialty: Family Medicine
Dr. Malik is a graduate of UCLA and attended Creighton Medical School where she graduated with honors. She trained in nearby Martinez before completing a Women’s Health fellowship with the University of Tennessee. She also has over 14 years experience as a residency faculty member in Baytown, TX.
A native Californian, Dr. Malik chose to return due to the natural beauty and welcoming climate of the area. She looks forward to introducing her two young daughters and husband to all the great things Sonoma and the surrounding areas have to offer. She enjoys gourmet cooking, fine dining, and live theater.
Her medical interests include well childcare, women’s health and chronic disease management. She is fluent in Spanish and is teaching herself sign language.
Jerome C. Smith, MD, MPH, FAAP
Specialty: Adolescent Medicine, Pediatrics
Dr. Smith is a Board Certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He graduated with a BS in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering from Duke University. After a brief career in Information Technology, he earned his medical degree from George Washington University in Washington, DC and completed his combined Pediatric Internship and Residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. During residency, he also completed a Masters of Public Health degree with a focus on Child Health Policy at UCLA. He is fluent in Spanish and conversant in French, and he appreciates being able to communicate in the language a family is most comfortable using. He sees children from the newborn period through their college years.
Before coming to Sonoma, Dr. Smith practiced pediatrics for five years in rural Central Florida through the National Health Service Corps. For the next five years he was the pediatrician and Medical Director of the Sonoma Valley Community Health Center and recently served as the Chief of Staff at Sonoma Valley Hospital from July 2011 to June 2013. He also lives in Sonoma, where he sings with the Valley of the Moon Chamber Ensemble and is the father of twin boys.
