Lawrence Posner, MD

Specialty: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine

While Dr. Posner has retired from the practice of medicine after a long and fulfilling career, he still works for Prima from time to time as a locum tenen.

Dr. Lawrence Posner received his medical degree from the University of California at San Francisco before practicing in Marin County. Following a rotating internship in New York, general practice in the US Army Medical Corps in Paris, and pediatric training in London, he then completed a residency in internal medicine at UCSF. Dr. Posner also took a brief dermatology rotation during his residency that proved tremendously beneficial to him and his patients over the years. He began his practice of medicine in Mill Valley in 1970, and over the course of his career, he provided patients with pediatric, general, internal and geriatric medical care.

Dr. Posner has a great love of the outdoors, especially the High Sierras, not to mention the byways and trails of Marin. He is an accomplished musician, and plays clarinet in the Marin Symphony. He thinks that he is funnier than his wife, but she disagrees.”
