Meet the Physicians

Alexis Cardellini, MD

Specialty: Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. Cardellini was born in San Francisco and grew up in Greenbrae. She graduated from Redwood High School in Larkspur before attending UCLA where she studied Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, graduating cum laude with departmental and college honors. She received her medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine in 2005, and then moved to Houston, Texas where she completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine.

Following residency, Dr. Cardellini returned to the Bay Area where she practiced at California Pacific Medical Center for one year. She is now realizing her ultimate goal – to come back to Marin to establish a life-long practice. Dr. Cardellini is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her professional interests include high-risk obstetrics, contraceptive management, minimally invasive surgery, adolescent gynecology, and infertility.

She lives in San Rafael with her family, and enjoys visiting art galleries, watching movies, hiking the hills of Marin, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.


Amber Jaeger, MD

Specialty: Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. Jaeger grew up in Wisconsin. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in biomedical engineering from Marquette University in Milwaukee. She worked on a cardiac research team at Medtronic, Inc., where she attained a U.S. Patent, before attending medical school at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Jaeger then completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wake Forest University in North Carolina. Her husband’s job then brought them to Silicon Valley. Dr. Jaeger worked at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City for a few years before her family decided to move to Marin.

Dr. Jaeger chose Obstetrics and Gynecology because she enjoys developing long term relationships with patients while caring for them through annual exams, pregnancy and routine gynecological care. She is passionate about and has experience in high-risk obstetrics, infertility, adolescent gynecology and minimally invasive surgery. She has a warm and caring personality and is known for her excellent bedside manner.

Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, painting and spending time with her husband and daughter.


Brian DeMuth, MD

Specialty: Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. DeMuth grew up in a small town outside of Phoenix. He then moved south to Tucson, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi from the University of Arizona. He went on to attend medical school and then residency at The University of Arizona. In 1987, he moved to the Bay Area and worked for Kaiser in Walnut Creek for a year before moving to Marin in 1988. It was then that he met Dr. Lois Levine, as they joined forces and shared a private practice together for more than 21 years. Dr. Levine recently announced her retirement, effective July, 2010. This move effectively opened an opportunity for Dr. DeMuth to join the Prima Medical Group, allowing him to continue to care for his own patients, as well as many patients from Dr. Levine’s old practice.

Over the years, he has served as chairman of the OB/GYN and Pediatric Multidisciplinary Committee, as well as the Perinatal Executive Committee. He has also served as Chief of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Marin General Hospital. He has maintained a busy obstetrics and gynecology practice, and he keeps an interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. He will soon train to become certified in the use of the DaVinci Robotic Surgical System. He also plans to expand his fetal and gynecologic ultrasound services at his new office setting.

Outside of work, his interest is mainly with his family and with music. His son currently attends Redwood High School. Dr. DeMuth also has a three-year-old granddaughter who calls him “PaPa.” He is active in a couple of bands, including the Starduster Orchestra, a 16 piece big band.


David B. Galland, MD

Specialty: Obstetrics and Gynecology

David Galland is a board certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist practicing in Larkspur for the past 29 years. He is a member of the American Association for Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the North American Menopause Society, the American Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, attended the L’Universite Catholique de Louvain in Belgium, and received his MD from the University of Rochester School of Medicine. After enduring several winters in Rochester, NY, he did his internship and residency at UCLA.

Dr. Galland grew up in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Marin in 1982 to join his lifelong family friend, Gerald Wilner, in private practice. In January 2011, after delivering nearly 6000 babies, he decided to concentrate his practice on gynecology and his passion for minimally invasive surgery. He no longer does obstetrics.

An innovative physician, Dr. Galland was the first Ob-Gyn in Marin County to do in office ultrasound, pioneered operative hysteroscopy in Marin and was the first Marin gynecologist to be certified to use the DaVinci surgical robot for minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries.

He is a former Chairperson of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Marin General Hospital (MGH), a former member of the Board of Directors of MGH, currently the Chairperson of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and a member of the Performance Improvement Committee of MGH. He is a founder and current Governing Board Member of the Marin Specialty Surgery Center in Greenbrae. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSF Medical School and enjoys teaching medical students. Dr. Galland has been selected three times, by his peers, as one of the Best Doctors in the Bay Area and this year was selected by U.S. News and World Report as one of the top doctors in America. Dr. Galland is fluent is Spanish and French. In his leisure time, he enjoys reading, yoga, gardening, cultivating orchids and spending time with his family.


Elizabeth Brown, DO

Specialty: Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. Elizabeth Brown, D.O., is a Board Certified OBGYN with a special interest in minimally invasive procedures and high-risk obstetrics. Dr. Brown received her undergraduate degree at UC Irvine in neurobiological sciences, graduated from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed her residency at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Brown combines her special interest in women’s health and office based procedures with a personalized approach to medicine. She is dedicated to her patients and seeks to develop long-term partnerships with them in order to best support their health needs through the various stages of their lives.

When not practicing, Dr. Brown is always looking for her next adventure. Her travels are inspired by her ever-evolving bucket list. She has climbed Machu Picchu, Kilimanjaro, Mont Blanc Circuit, seen the wildebeest migration and Pyramids of Giza, and ran with the bulls in Pamplona. Although her passion for the outdoors is great, her devotion to her patients is stronger and she couldn’t be happier to be back in Northern California, living with her husband and practicing in Marin County.


Gerald Wilner, MD

Specialty: Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. Wilner is a board certified Obstetric and Gynecologic physician who has been practicing in Marin for nearly 40 years. He went to Medical School at Buffalo State University, did his Internship at Maimonides Hospital of Brooklyn, and his Residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital (where he was Chief Resident). He practiced at Griffiss Air Force Base for two years and then came to Marin to practice.


K. Jennifer Voss, MD

Specialty: Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. K. Jennifer Voss, the current chairman of the department of OB/GYN at Marin General Hospital, is a Bay Area native. She attended UC San Diego for her undergraduate education and obtained a BS in physiology and neuroscience in 1994. After moving East to further her education at the Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, she returned to Southern California to complete her OB/GYN residency training at UC Irvine. Following many years of education, she was excited to return to Marin County where she joined Women’s Medical Associates in 2003.

Dr. Voss is a board certified OB/GYN and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrician and Gynecologists who practices medicine with an evidence-based approach, but is open to complementary and alternative options as well. She has a special interest in laparoscopic surgery and is certified to use the DaVinci Robotic Surgical System. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Voss has a passion for medicine and is excited to be in practice with other physicians who share the same philosophy and ideals, as well as the ability to juggle both family and medicine!

Outside of the office, Dr. Voss enjoys hiking, skiing, volleyball, and spending time with her husband and two sons.


Kristen Matsik, MD

Specialty: Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. Kristen Matsik was raised in Richmond, Virginia. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and graduated from the Medical College of Virginia. Following this, Dr. Matsik completed her residency at the University of Florida Health Science Center. In 2000, she and her husband moved to San Francisco, where she worked at California Pacific Medical Center.

As a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, she specializes in high-risk obstetrics, laparoscopic surgery, hysteroscopy and endometrial ablation. In addition, she has significant experience in the field of adolescent gynecology. Dr. Matsik was elected a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians in 2004. In addition, she is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California in San Francisco, which bestowed teaching awards on her in 2013 and 2015. Marin Magazine has named her a Top Doctor in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017.

Dr. Matsik has three children and lives in Marin. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, hiking, biking and spending time with her family.


Sally Boero, MD

Specialty: Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. Sally Boero was born and raised in Marin. Dr. Boero was born at Marin General Hospital and feels it is her destiny to deliver babies at MGH. After graduating from Redwood High School, she attended U.C. Davis where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology. After finishing at Davis, Dr. Boero worked at UCSF as a research assistant studying Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and applied to medical school. Dr. Boero matriculated with the class of 1996 at UCLA Medical School the following year where she hoped to specialize in women’s health care. She completed her Internship and Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of California, San Diego. From there Dr. Boero spent three years in Boulder, Colorado working for Kaiser, where she became Board Certified in 2003. Later that year, Dr. Boero migrated back to Marin.

Dr. Boero worked with Obstetric and Gynecological Associates of San Francisco out of California Pacific Medical Center from 2003 to 2005. In 2005 with the help of Dr. Gerald Wilner, she opened a private practice of her own in Larkspur – a career long goal. Her practice was busy and growing, but she was dealing with fertility issues of her own, so she left her practice in February of 2008 to start a family. She is happy to have achieved her family goals and now return to practice refreshed and excited to take care of women and their families. Dr. Boero looks forward to re-uniting with former patients and meeting new ones. She feels very privileged to have landed among the dedicated group of doctors at Prima.


Sujatha Pathi, MD

Specialty: Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, Urogynecology

Dr. Pathi is board certified specialist in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. She received her BA in biology and economics from Wellesley College and earned her MD, with honors, from the University of Southern California Medical School. She completed a four-year residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the UCLA Medical Center followed by a three-year fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas before starting her practicing in Marin.

Dr. Pathi has conducted extensive research into the causes of pelvic floor disorders. She was the recipient of the Astellas Research Grant awarded by the American Urogynecologic Society. Her research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals such as Obstetrics & Gynecology, American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the International Journal of Urogynecology. Dr. Pathi was nationally recognized for her research when she was awarded for the best basic science paper at the American Urogynecologic Society 2010 scientific meeting.

As a specialist in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Pathi’s area of focus includes surgical and non-surgical treatments for pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, voiding dysfunction, defecatory dysfunction, pelvic pain, and childbirth-related pelvic floor dysfunction.


Sylvia Flores, MD, MSW, MPH

Specialty: Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr Sylvia Flores is an OB/GYN physician currently practicing at two Marin locations, Greenbrae and Novato. She was a psychotherapist in the Bay Area for almost 5 years before pursuing her interest in medicine. Dr. Flores graduated from Stanford Medical School in 1985. She was awarded an Orinoco Foundation Scholarship while she was there and traveled extensively in Venezuela and the Amazon territory studying women’s health care as well as tropical medicine. She then did her residency in New Mexico at the University of Albuquerque Medical Center where she cared for many high risk OB patients.

Dr. Flores completed her National Health Service Corps commitment after 3 years at an inner city Milwaukee Clinic and delivered 350 babies per year while there. Her publications in the past have included studies on wound healing in addition to studies on psychiatric services to the medically underserved.

She is fluent in Spanish, oral and written, and is learning French. She enjoys traveling, cooking, gardening, playing tennis, bridge and dance of all kinds (especially ballet and tango).


Linda Wight, RN, NP

Linda Wight was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, but she was raised in Northern California. Linda has spent some time living in Boston and Seattle, but has been back in California for over 17 years. Linda decided she wanted to be a nurse when she was 12 years old and had an appendectomy. After graduating from nursing school at San Jose State University, she spent her first year working in hospitals. She was drawn to Women’s Health from the start and studied to be a Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner soon after becoming an RN. Linda did her Nurse Provider training at UCLA/Harbor General Hospital.

Linda has thoroughly enjoyed working in Women’s Health for the over 30 years now. She finds there’s always something new to learn, great people to work with, and wonderful patients of all background who have honored her with the stories of their lives. She sees health as a dynamic process and encourages prevention as a way of life. When Linda is not working, she enjoys hiking, reading, gardening, and spending time with her family in Marin. She likes to travel and plans to do more when her two children finish college.
